Brian Water hearing is
Aug. 3 in Boise
The Idaho
Public Utilities Commission will conduct a rate hearing for the customers of
Boise-based Brian Water Corporation on Wednesday, Aug. 3, in the commission
hearing at 472 W. Washington St. in Boise.
Brian Water
serves about 46 households in the Warm Springs area of eastern Boise. It seeks
to increase its monthly base rate from $12.50 to $18 for the first 4,000
gallons per month. The company’s last request for a rate increase was in 2007.
Brian Water
states that its nitrate levels exceed the federal maximum contamination level.
In response, the company is considering a new, deeper well. The company also
states that an increase in base rates would put the company’s rates more in
line with other water systems.
The purpose
for the hearing is to hear the direct testimony of customers and interested
public. The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Testimony will be recorded and made
part of the commission’s formal record for decision in this matter.
